Like many community led organisations, it is the personal experiences that are often behind the passion to make change.
As a response to a lack of accessible and on-going support for families, Own Time & Space was founded to provide access to clear up- to date knowledge and support on Autism, ADHD, PDA. Guidance that is tailored to each families journey.

What our name means
The name Own Time & Space reflects the belief that every child develops in their own way, at their own pace.
Inspired by the Māori word for Autism, Takiwātanga, meaning “in their own time and space,” the name represents a shift away from traditional expectations and towards understanding, acceptance and respect for individual differences.
At the heart of everything we do is the belief that neurodivergence is not something to be “fixed”, but understood and supported.
